After days of intense debates, lobbying, and coalition-building, the conference has officially come to a close on our campus! 🏛️✨ Our young diplomats truly embodied this year’s theme of embracing diversity, proving that dialogue builds real bridges across cultures and borders. 🤝🌍

Getting ready to roll back to school safely! 🪖🚲
We hope you’re enjoying a wonderful and restful break! As we prepare to kick off the second half of this term, we’d like to re-share Teresa’s great video project on helmet safety. It’s a gentle reminder to our entire community, not only to protect your head, but to keep all essential road rules in mind as everyone commutes back to campus. Whether you’re a student, parent, or staff member, keeping our roads safe is a shared responsibility!
Here are the key requirements set by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to review before stepping back onto your bike:
• Helmet on, always! Ensure your helmet is properly fitted before setting off. 🪖
• Follow the flow: Always obey traffic signals and ride in the same direction as traffic.
• Stay to the left: Keep as close as practicable to the left-hand side of the road.
• Single file: Ride in single file on single-lane roads and during bus lane operating hours.
• Stay predictable: Maintain a steady course—avoid sudden swerves or weaving.
• Eyes on the road: Never use a mobile phone while riding, and stay fully alert to pedestrians and drivers. 📱🚫
• Be seen: Always use a white front light and a red rear light when cycling in the dark or early mornings. 💡

World Champion Paul Pogba visits IFS! ⚽🇫🇷
Our students experienced an unforgettable and inspiring afternoon as French professional footballer Paul Pogba visited the International French School (IFS) during our football activities!
In collaboration with Adidas, Paul came to meet our young athletes, engage in a warm exchange, and share valuable insights from his high-level career. He was welcomed by our PE teacher and football leader, Mr. Talhi, as well as our Principal, Mr. Jourdan, who was present to share in this special occasion.
During his inspiring talk with the students, Paul emphasized the true value of education, sharing:
« School is a wonderful place, not just to acquire knowledge, but to thrive and grow as an individual alongside others. »
Our students had the incredible opportunity to learn from his experience, ask questions, and capture the moment with photos they will cherish for a long time.

THIMUN Singapore 2026 has officially begun at IFS! 🌐
We are thrilled to welcome — for the third year in a row — delegates, Student Officers, and guests from 27 schools across 13 countries to our campus for an inspiring week of diplomacy, debate, and international collaboration! 🤝✨
This year’s theme, “Culture and heritage: embracing diversity,” sets the stage for meaningful discussions on how our shared history and rich cultural identity can build a more inclusive world. 🏛️🌍
This year, around 35 IFS students are taking active roles to make this edition a true success, under the leadership of their dedicated teacher, Ms. Leena Sharma:

🔹 17 Admin Team members work behind the scenes to ensure seamless organization throughout the week.

Unforgettable Memories in Vietnam! 🇻🇳
Mid-October was all about cultural immersion, hands-on learning, and discovery for our 10th-grade students in Southern Vietnam!
Here are the highlights from their journey 📸:
🌱 Local School Exchange: Sharing games and smiles with pupils at Đồng Phú primary school.
🚴 Delta Life: Biking through rural trails, boat rides along the Mekong, and discovering traditional artisan workshops.
🎨 Hands-On Workshops: Vietnamese cooking classes, conical hat painting, and learning Viet Vo Dao martial arts!
📚 History & Culture: Exploring HCMC landmarks, visiting the War Remnants Museum, and attending a lecture on Vietnamese heritage.
A huge shoutout to our students for their enthusiasm, creativity, and open-mindedness throughout the trip, and for filming all the footage for this recap, as well as to our teachers coming along! 🎓✨

Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers! 🤝🎓
Our High School Terminale students from the Humanitarian Group (EMC-GH) hosted an inspiring humanitarian conference for our 5ème (Grade 7) classes! 🌟
Guided by Julie and Anouk, our younger students discovered the vital work of Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (@pse_france ), an association proudly supported by IFS dedicated to rescuing children from extreme poverty in Cambodia. 💙
This gathering was a wonderful opportunity to learn about PSE’s mission, discover our upcoming annual Act-IFS project, and see how classroom values of solidarity and empathy translate into real-world impact.
Beyond supporting a great cause, this event allowed our Terminale students to sharpen their public speaking skills while stepping up as inspiring role models for their younger peers, who were incredibly engaged and asked thoughtful questions! 🎙️👏

Alumni Spotlight: Welcome back to Lisa & Gwenaëlle (Class of 2025)! 🎓✨
We were thrilled to welcome back two of our recent graduates to IFS!
Lisa spent 8 years at IFS in the International Section, which boosted her English proficiency. Having taken Math, Physics, and Earth & Life Sciences, she’s now pursuing a Maths & Physics Prépa in Lyon, aiming for a career in research or primary teaching.
Gwenaëlle joined IFS for 3 years and took the Theater option, a game-changer that helped her overcome her shyness and seamlessly integrate into university life! Now at UTC Compiègne, her artistic passion for drawing is guiding her toward industrial design.
Looking back on their years in Singapore, both agree that the strength of IFS lies in its people. Thanks to the personalized guidance of their teachers, especially Mrs Ongaro, who helped them navigate Parcoursup to find their true path, they felt supported every step of the way. Gwenaëlle highlighted the strong sense of solidarity within the school. From unforgettable school trips to Berlin, Pondicherry, and Krabi to discovering their future callings, their journey is a testament to the power of a supportive community.

Our CM2 (year 5) students are stepping into the fascinating world of Germanic mythology alongside Mrs. Günther’s Year 9 German class. Through a fun « Mythological Speed Dating » activity, our younger learners get to interview their older peers, collect key clues, and explore ancient tales to spark their own creative writing.
Beyond connecting primary and secondary students, this pedagogical project broadens our learners’ cultural horizons and enriches their curiosity about world stories and myths.
