PHOTO CONTEST 2025 “TERRITOIRES D’ASIE ET OCÉANIE : DES IMAGES ET DES MOTS »
An Invitation to Explore, Capture, and Share
The Territoires d’Asie contest offers students a unique opportunity to rediscover their host country by combining photography with multilingual writing. This intercultural and multilingual project encourages participants to take a closer look at the city and cultural environment around them, enriching their understanding of the place they live.
Mr. David Mas, a teacher at IFS, will lead the project as part of the collaborative initiatives within the AEFE network in the Asia-Pacific region. By participating, students will not only explore their own environment but also gain insight into the uniqueness of other countries through the work of partner schools.
Each photograph, paired with a text in French and another foreign language, enables students to convey their emotions, unique perspective, and personal sensitivity. This contest provides a valuable opportunity to recognise the multilingual and multicultural richness of their environment while nurturing creativity and fostering openness to the world.
At IFS, this project is divided into two parts:
- A joint project for the Asia-Pacific region: “My Host Country: Reflections on the Past.” Students will be asked to take a photo of places, objects, or people in action in their host country and explain in the caption why they chose that photo and how it represents a moment from the past.
- A project more specific to IFS and the city of Singapore, as part of the school’s curriculum and education on sustainability, under the supervision of teacher Mme Fanny de Pra. The theme this year is “My Host Country: Perspectives on a Sustainable Future”
The Territoires d’Asie contest will be open starting at the end of October to students from CM2 to Terminale, with four distinct categories:
- Liaison CM2-6ème
- 5ème-3ème
- Lycée
- EDD (Education for Sustainable Development) – a special category with a prize of encouragement.
This contest is a key component of a class project and aligns with a pedagogical sequence, promoting group participation while also welcoming individual entries.
The results will be announced in May-June, and the finalists’ works will be exhibited at IFS.
