Principal
Originally from Hauts-de-France, Mr David Binan holds a Master’s degree in History, specialising in History of the Middle Ages. He began his career in France as a teacher before leaving for Turkey as a linguistics attaché and then returned to teaching. After a career change at the French Embassy in Bulgaria, Mr Binan obtained his first position as Deputy Principal in France and then at the Lycée Français International G. Pompidou in Dubai before moving to Australia in 2012 as Principal of the Franco-Australian high school in Canberra. Mr Binan has been Principal of IFS since January 2022.
JILLIAN ERIN-AGOT
Vice Principal

Originally from Martinique, Jillian Erin-Agot comes from a family with a strong background in education. At the age of 23, she began her career as a history and geography teacher. In 2009, driven by her passion for the English language, she seized the opportunity presented by the Jules Verne programme to teach at the International Charter Schools in Miami (FL, USA), where she also served as the coordinator for the French programme.
Her international journey continued at the Franco-Australian high school in Canberra (Australia), where she worked as a teacher and later as acting vice principal. Building on these early experiences, she became part of the leadership team in Paris in 2018, working first in a middle school in the 17th arrondissement, and later in a high school in the 14th arrondissement.
In 2024, she joins IFS, eager to bring her kindness and energy to support every student on their path to the success they deserve.
SYLVIE ALLONAS

Sylvie Allonas is originally from Eastern France, where she started her career as a teacher. From 2005 to 2016, she was deputy head teacher in France, first in a collège and then in a lycée général et technologique. Sylvie comes from Canada, where she spent six years as head of French studies in an approved school in the province of Ontario, a partner of the Agence pour l’enseignement à l’étranger and the Mission laïque française. In 2021, she was awarded the insignia of Officier dans l’Ordre des Palmes académiques.
CHRISTOPHE CAILTON
Director – Élémentaire

Christophe, originally from Bordeaux, began his career as a teacher, focusing on developing physical education programmes at the primary level within the USEP (Union Sportive de l’Enseignement du Premier Degré), the French school sports federation. He later had the chance to work in Asia at the Lycée Franco-International in Tokyo, followed by roles within the European Schools network in Belgium and Spain. In France, Christophe led a school in an Education Priority Network, dealing with significant educational and social challenges. Before moving to Singapore, he spent five years as the director of the Ashbury primary campus at the Lycée Français de San Francisco.
At IFS, an exceptional school, Christophe’s priority will continue to be ensuring that students are given every opportunity to excel and thrive.

Originally from Touraine, Johanna Boutard began her career as a primary school teacher. Early on, she developed a passion for school community engagement and quickly took on leadership roles. Her first international assignment was at the Lycée Français de Los Angeles, where she discovered the AEFE network. She then continued her journey to Kazakhstan, serving as interim head of school, followed by a position as primary school principal in Gabon. Later, she led nearly 1,000 students, from preschool to grade 5 (TPS to CM2), at the Lycée Français Guy de Maupassant in Casablanca.
In 2024, she joined IFS, bringing her energy and commitment to supporting each student’s individual needs. With a focus on both academic success and personal development, she also cultivates strong partnerships with families to ensure every child thrives.
FLORIAN OLIVE
Director – Maternelle

Before joining IFS, Florian was a school director in France in the Occitanie region in kindergarten and primary schools in the “réseaux d’éducation prioritaire renforcée” (REP) network. He has also worked with students with disabilities and coordinated a school inclusion centre for students with special educational needs. Florian holds a master’s degree in education and training and is a CAFIPEMF holder and master trainer. His career path has led him to consider school a place of success and fulfilment, allowing each individual to progress at their own pace in a framework of caring and high standards. He was awarded in 2022 the rank of Chevalier de L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques.

Yves was appointed Executive Director of IFS in march 2015. His engagement with IFS started earlier as a volunteer, when he was part of the Executive Committee of IFS as a Parent Representative from 2005 to 2010. A graduate of AgroParisTech, a university training students in Agronomy and Food Industry, his career took him to France, England, Africa and Asia, working for international corporations active in the food and the finance sectors. He came to Singapore in 2004, where he held senior management positions in the investment banking industry prior to joining IFS.
ALEX CARRAUSSE
IT Director
Alex has more than 20 years of experience in information systems, IT services and project management, with strong team building and interpersonal skills honed during onsite responsibilities in Korea, Nigeria, France, UK, Kyrgyzstan and Singapore. Alex graduated with a Master of Science of Engineering in IT systems management from Toulouse University and holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School. Prior to joining IFS, Alex worked as an IT Manager at Lycée Français de Séoul and for corporations such as HP, Safran and Neurones IT where he has been involved in high-profile government projects and business leadership.

Prior to joining IFS in 2020, Anna worked over 10 years in various Senior HR roles in Asia, Europe and Middle East. She has two master degrees in HR Development and Industrial Management as well as a postgraduate degree in Organisation Development and change management. Anna is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner and coach.
DENNIS CHAN
Extension Project Director
Dennis brings over 30 years of experience as an Architect to his role as IFS’ Campus Extension Project Director. Before joining IFS, Dennis was formerly Director in an international architectural practice delivering some of Singapore’s most complex high-profile projects and has won honours at the Singapore Institute of Architects Architectural Design Awards 2020. Dennis designed and led major projects in Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore, most of them in the range of SGD100M to SGD500M, comprising hotels, commercial and retail complexes, as well as institutional projects. Dennis graduated with honours (1990) from the National University of Singapore’s architectural programme and esteems developing future generations of architects. He continues to mentor graduate architects as part of Singapore’s Board of Architects Professional Practice Exams Panel of Advisors.

Holder of a Master’s degree in Private Law and a legal diploma from ENADEP and CentraleSupélec Exed schools. Gaëlle worked for ten years in a Parisian law firm and then in the legal department of the ISS France Group as a legal expert. Before joining IFS, Gaëlle worked for three years in the international school sector in Singapore for a language school.

Mei Kuan joined IFS in August 2020. He is a Chartered Accountant, ISCA (Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants) and holds membership with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors Singapore).
An accountancy graduate from Nanyang Technological University, Mei Kuan has held progressive responsibilities in both Controllership and Financial Planning and Analysis, and worked in diverse MNCs across the hotel, technology and education industries.
He has experience in accounting shared services, financial and management reporting, treasury and compliance, process improvements, budgets and business partnering, financial models and procurement.

Purchasing Manager
Jessica joined IFS in 2014 and thus started the procurement department. Prior to joining IFS, she was a Sales, Marketing & Purchasing Manager for 17 years in a French company. Jessica was developing supply sources mainly in Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China and India) and implementing sales and marketing strategies in 30 countries in Africa, mainly West Africa, Reunion, Mauritius & Madagascar.

Facilities, Safety & Security Director
Karounagarane joined IFS in 1990. Overseeing the school’s overall maintenance and facilities management, he has successfully carried out many additions and alterations in IFS. Karoun is a certified Project Manager and has a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He holds the title of ‘Chevalier’ of ‘Ordre des Palmes académiques’, the national order bestowed by the French Republic to distinguished academics and figures in the world of culture and education.

Prior to joining IFS in 2019, Sebastien worked as Head of Marketing Communications & Admissions for a premium international school in Singapore. Before entering the school environment Sebastien worked for over six years with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Asia Pacific office as Regional Marketing & Communications Manager APAC. Sebastien has over 20 years experience in marketing communications, media & public relations and brand reputation management. An IB Diploma graduate from UWCSEA and BA Honours degree holder from The University of York, Sebastien formerly held communication and marketing roles with the British Chamber of Commerce and various multinational corporations working throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Sylvie joined IFS in 2011 as Transport Manager and since 2018 she has the role of Transport and Catering Manager. Before joining IFS, she worked for 20 years in one of the largest petrochemical companies worldwide, in various positions such as Sales Representative, Customer Service Supervisor, Business Analyst….Sylvie is a graduate of the state engineering graduate school ENSIGC in Toulouse (now ENSIACET).
