2,220 Reasons to Celebrate this Season of Giving from the IFS Community

Walkathon 2020 mobilised the entire IFS community with participants running virtually last Saturday, 12th December with proceeds going to charity

Walkathon 2020 marked IFS history with IFS students, parents and friends running virtually for the first time in solidarity with the IFS Groupe Humanitaire’s actions. Traditionally held on campus with participants running together in our beautiful facilities in Ang Mo Kio, this year’s edition saw IFS runners sporting the Walkathon T-shirt in the parks and streets of Singapore including  MacRichie Reservoir and Singapore Botanic Gardens.

This initiative raised funds for the benefit of the following regional and local charitable organisations: Blue dragon, Couleurs de Chine, Children’s Wishing Well, Krousar Thmey, Les Oursins (Enfants des Trottoirs) and Pertapis. This year’s participants ran with their prams, bicycles, scooters and with a smile on their faces. Even the rain did not stop the participants from taking part in the initiative. One dedicated IFS family even ran in their living room just to support this charitable cause.

“Initially scheduled in February this year and in compliance with the safe management measures due to COVID-19, we were forced to postpone this event and totally rethink it,” said Ghislaine Hegy, Anne Charlotte Tassin and Lucie Grosso of the IFS Groupe Humanitaire.

With the engagement and support from the entire IFS Community, we achieved a great performance covering over 2,220 km!

“On behalf of IFS and the IFS Groupe Humanitaire, we thank you for your participation and for proudly displaying our colours for the benefit of disadvantaged children. We would also like to thank our sponsors who have supported us and all our volunteers for having, like you, wished to continue our action, which is so important in these difficult times. During this adaptation phase, we have been fortunate to be joined by IFS students wishing to become personally involved in humanitarian projects,” said Ghislaine Hegy, Anne Charlotte Tassin and Lucie Grosso.

Thank you to our sponsors
