French freelance journalist and author of children’s non-fiction books Sandra Laboucarie likes to delve into the real world for stories to tell.

After graduating from the Journalism Teaching Centre at the University of Strasbourg, she worked for over ten years in the editorial offices of Mon Quotidien and L’Actu (Play Bac Presse).

In 2013, she left her life in Paris to return to her hometown near Toulouse. 

She now works as a freelance writer for various publications of Milan Presse and Bayard Presse (1jour1actu.com, Julie, Okapi, Phosphore, etc.) and for the parenting magazine L’Enfant et la vie. 

In addition to her activities as a journalist, she has written over fifteen documentaries. All of them are designed to awaken young readers’ curiosity about the world surrounding them.

Her favourite themes are: Citizenship, society, the planet and anything that can, in one way or another, “encourage young readers to understand the world, to go beyond preconceived ideas and to meet others.”

The conference on ‘Information in the age of fake news’ aims to provide media education for students and parents alike.

IFS prepares students to develop critical thinking skills, analyse the world around them, and form their own opinions. This conference is organised as part of the PEAC (Parcours d’Éducation Artistique et Culturelle), which aims to encourage the participation of all children and young people in artistic and cultural life through the acquisition of knowledge, direct contact with works of art encounters with artists and cultural professionals, and creative or cultural practice.

Finally, the conference will be moderated by two Terminale students (Grade 12) as part of their EMC (Moral and Civic Education) course, allowing them to learn to speak in public, prepare questions and lead a debate.

This conference will be conducted in French only.
