XIX SIMUN: Shaping a Sustainable Future, Together
IFS Maintains Tradition with the 19th Edition of the Singapore Model United Nations (SIMUN): Global Challenges, Shared Solutions; Navigating a Sustainable Future.
This year’s SIMUN theme highlights the interconnected nature of the issues presented in the MUN committees. It emphasizes the importance of collaborative and comprehensive solutions to address the international community’s complex challenges. Delegates are encouraged to consider the interplay between different topics and committees, fostering a holistic approach to problem-solving. Furthermore, the theme emphasizes the significance of sustainability in finding enduring solutions to global problems.
Building on the success of previous editions, IFS is thrilled to host this transformative event at its campus once again from Thursday, 15 February to Saturday, 17 February 2024.

- Forging connections: Students collaborate with peers from across the globe, forming lasting friendships and learning from diverse perspectives.
- Igniting change: Students craft resolutions, debate critical issues and leave equipped to make a real difference.
Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Diplomacy and Debate
SIMUN is a unique educational simulation that provides an immersive experience for participants in a real United Nations conference. Organized by IFS, the SIMUN event is not just a meeting but a platform for students to explore the complex world of international relations. The event aims to develop future leaders by teaching essential skills to articulate thoughts on pressing global issues. Participants actively engage in meaningful debates reflecting the intricacies of real-world diplomatic negotiations, fostering a deeper understanding of the world’s challenges.
Engaging in a Model United Nations proves to be a multifaceted and enriching activity for students. Beyond facilitating connections with peers worldwide, it becomes a tool for personal growth. Overcoming the fear of public speaking, gaining insights into diplomacy, and broadening comprehension of international issues stand among the numerous benefits. Furthermore, the event serves as a catalyst for enhancing leadership skills and empowering students to effect tangible change in the world.
As the conference unfolds on the IFS campus, the participants will enjoy themselves and leave with a heightened sense of responsibility and a renewed commitment to shaping a better world. IFS, true to its spirit of innovation, continues to pave the way for educational excellence by providing students with a unique and empowering experience through the Model United Nations event.
