IFS CLASS OF 2024: CHARTING A GLOBAL PATH TO PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES    

A Celebration of Excellence and Global Aspirations

This year’s graduates achieved a flawless 100% pass rate in the French Baccalaureate, reinforcing the school’s reputation for academic rigour and holistic education. Among them, 10.2% earned the elite distinction of “Très Bien with Honors” (*Très Bien avec les Félicitations du Jury*), while 37% achieved a “Très Bien” distinction. These remarkable achievements underscore the students’ dedication and the school’s ability to provide an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and personal growth.

Beyond statistics, the Class of 2024 is defined by inspiring individual stories that showcase the transformative power of an IFS education. One such story is that of Côme, who spent ten formative years at IFS and achieved a “Très Bien” distinction. “I have gained all the tools and support needed to excel in my Baccalaureate exams,” shares Côme. This achievement has paved the way for his dream of becoming an aerospace engineer, a journey he will continue at ESTACA, a prestigious engineering school in France. Reflecting on his time at IFS, Côme praised the teachers who “brought out the best in each of us,” illustrating the school’s profound impact on his personal and academic development.  

Hortense, another standout graduate, exemplifies the global mindset cultivated at IFS. Her six years at the school prepared her for a dual degree program at Sciences Po Paris and the University of British Columbia, a unique opportunity to deepen her understanding of international relations while gaining invaluable global experience. “I am delighted with my results, which reflect my diligent work and the incredible support and guidance from my teachers,” she says. Hortense credits her success to the strong relationships she built with peers and mentors at IFS, calling her time there a period of growth and discovery. “These experiences have profoundly shaped me, and I am extremely proud of all we have achieved together,” she adds.

University Destinations: A Global Future

The Class of 2024’s university destinations reflect their readiness to embrace a world of opportunities. Graduates are heading to renowned institutions across France, such as Sciences Po Paris, Sorbonne Université, and École Polytechnique. In the United Kingdom, students will join the ranks of world-class universities, including the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, and the London School of Economics. North America is another popular destination, with students enrolling at Concordia University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, while Asia boasts notable acceptances such as The University of Hong Kong. Other graduates are set to study at the University of Melbourne, adding Australia to the map of destinations. These choices illustrate the global reach of IFS students and their ability to thrive in diverse academic and cultural settings.

The variety of academic disciplines chosen by the Class of 2024 underscores the school’s role in cultivating a breadth of talents and interests. Nearly 40% of graduates are pursuing studies in engineering and sciences, exploring fields like aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy. Business-related fields such as economics, management, and hospitality continue to attract a significant portion of the cohort, with 32.1% of students focusing on finance, entrepreneurship, and global commerce careers. Humanities and social sciences account for 20.4% of students, reflecting interests in international relations, law, and psychology. Meanwhile, 5.1% of graduates are venturing into arts and architecture, demonstrating the importance of creative expression in shaping the future.

These diverse academic pursuits align with emerging global trends. The increasing interest in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and renewable energy highlights the foresight of IFS graduates, who are preparing to address the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving world. By providing an education that encourages both critical thinking and creativity, IFS ensures that its students are well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to transformative industries.  

The comprehensive support system at IFS is a critical factor in the success of the Class of 2024. The university counselling team played a pivotal role in guiding students through the complexities of the application process. Personalised one-on-one sessions, workshops on crafting compelling personal statements, and interview preparation were instrumental in helping students align their academic achievements with their future aspirations. The annual International University Fair brought over 70 universities to IFS and provided invaluable opportunities for students and parents to explore programs and connect with admissions representatives.

Teachers also made an indelible impact, offering more than just academic instruction. Their mentorship and encouragement inspired resilience, curiosity, and a passion for learning among students. This partnership between students and faculty created an environment where every individual could thrive, achieving milestones beyond the classroom.

As these graduates embark on the next chapter of their lives, they carry with them the values and lessons cultivated during their time at IFS. They are academically prepared and poised to lead, innovate, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.

A Global Breakdown of Choices  

France (43.8%): France remains the most popular destination, with nearly half of the graduating class choosing to attend renowned institutions like Sciences Po Paris, Sorbonne Université, and École Polytechnique. This reflects many students’ strong academic ties and familiarity with the French education system.

Europe (16.8%): A significant portion of the class is heading to other European countries, attending top universities such as Bocconi University in Italy, EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland, and the University of Amsterdam. These choices highlight the appeal of Europe’s diverse educational opportunities, particularly where courses are taught in English. This provides IFS students with an even greater breadth of choice of destination.

French Universities Abroad (13.9%): Many students have chosen French institutions located internationally, such as French business schools and engineering programs abroad, blending familiarity with global exposure.

United Kingdom (11.7%): The UK remains a favoured destination for IFS graduates, with students gaining admission to elite universities such as Imperial College London, London School of Economics (LSE), University of Cambridge, and King’s College London.
